Miles Hiked Overall: 230 (371 km)
Today I walked the Netarts Spit (8 miles), which is between Netarts Bay and where we joined the hike yesterday over Cape Lookout. This was Pam's last day before she needed to return home for a while, and we were going to do this hike before she left. However, this morning was horrible rain and cold temperature...I hope it's not a sign of things to come. In the afternoon the storm had passed, and it turned rather nice and I got in a nice walk by myself.
These bugs/animals(?) are everywhere along the beach..they are the size of a quarter and move in a very clumsy way, not unlike a crab. They walk for awhile and then burrow in the sand. I've also loved seeing the perhaps 10 million dogs we've seen so far on the beach...I especially love the ones playing catch with their owner, over and over again.
